An ode to my mama and to the many moms I have collected over the years. I am one fortunate daughter to have hit the jackpot. My mother is the strongest woman I know. She is brave, kind, and adored by so many. I’m also incredibly lucky to have many friends who also have amazing moms that have taken me in as their pseudo-daughter.

Not everyone is lucky enough to have this strong of a relationship with any parent. This is how I choose to celebrate these relationships in this way, and I hope to hold space for others who are not or cannot be in this position. Whether it’s your mom, your sister, a mother from another, or your bestie, we all deserve strong women in our lives.

Annealing metal is the use of heat on the metal to soften it up so you can mold and give it texture. To help the metal stay in place, you have to harden it with a hammer or by putting it in a tumbler. The warmth that’s provided allows for it to be shaped how it needs to and the hardening with the texture gives it depth and a story. This line is an ode to my cousin Tanner, who lost his life way too young. He was an incredible individual with a heart of gold and we miss him every single day.

Introducing the Samwise Ring. Made with both my brother, Aaron, who is a huge LOTR fan, and my friend Sam, who was named after Samwise himself. Both Aaron and Sam have one of these rings as their wedding bands. I’m incredibly honored that they wear these as a symbol of their love with their incredible partners.

I drew more inspiration from the Ents and wanted to connect the texture to the patina as an aged kind of look (and of course, one ring to rule them all). Even though they don’t know each other, they do share a lot of commonalities. My favorite connection is that Aaron’s son (my nephew) and Sam have the same birthday!
